David W. Korth


David W. Korth, 76, of Platte Center, Nebraska, died Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Edgewood Vista in Columbus, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 12, at 10:00 AM, at St. Isidore Church with Fr. Joe Miksch celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a 6:00 PM vigil service all at the church. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time, also at the church. Interment with military honors will be in St. Joseph/St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, rural Platte Center, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested as those of the family or donor's choice.

David Korth was born May 15, 1947, in Sterling, Colorado, to Harold and Bernice (Stenger) Korth. At the age of eight, the family moved to Lindsay, Nebraska, where David graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School. After graduating from high school, Dave entered the United States Army and Army Reserves from September 19, 1966, until his honorable discharge on May 18, 1972. On January 2, 1971, David was united in marriage to Marilyn Inselman at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Dave worked for Lindsay Manufacturing as a welder for 46 years.

David was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed baseball and bowling and when his children were young, was a baseball coach for them. He truly loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. On the farm where he lived, he raised all sorts of animals and livestock.

David is survived by: Wife – Marilyn Korth of Platte Center, NE Daughter – Roxana (Steve) Weeder of Genoa, NE Son – Corey (Eileen) Korth of Blair, NE Son – Darin Korth of Omaha, NE 10 grandchildren Brother – Jim (Kathy) Korth of Lindsay, NE Brother – Alvin (Dodie) Korth of Lindsay, NE Brother – Bill (Carol) Korth of Lindsay, NE Brother – Gary (Jeanette) Korth of Lindsay, NE Sister – Jane Korth of Lindsay, NE Sister – Janet (Carsen) Kuehl of Lincoln, NE

David was preceded in death by: Parents – Harold and Bernice Korth Sister – Shirley (Pat) Pfeifer
