Edwin "Ed" Stankoski


Edwin “Ed” Stankoski died Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.

Funeral Services are 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Interment at a later date will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery.

Edwin Benny Stankoski was born August 23, 1937, to Adam and Mary (Stetz) Stankoski 9 miles east of Fullerton. He was one of 11 children. He went to Krakow School and District 32 until the 8th grade. On May 21, 1966, Edwin was united in marriage to Judy Graham in Silver Creek. Edwin worked various different places including Loup Public Power, Grosch Irrigation, US Air Force Communications station and 30 years at the Schuyler Packing House. He was a volunteer firefighter in Silver Creek for 43 years. After his retirement, the couple moved from their home in Silver Creek to Columbus and Edwin worked for 5 years for the Columbus Public Schools Food Service. His greatest joy was his family and spending time with them. Ed enjoyed hunting deer, antelope, and wild boar. He also enjoyed fishing, turtles and frogs.

He is survived by: Wife: Judy Son Mark (Thoy) Stankoski Daughter: Debbie (Mark) Roeber Daughter: Diane (Scott) Decker Four Grandchildren: Matthew (Special Friend Alexandria; Miley and Kendall), Lillie, Faith, and Justin Sister-in-law: Mary Ann Stankoski

He is preceded in death by: Parents: Adam and Mary Stankoski Brothers: Zigmund, Emil, Louis, and Wesley Sisters: Lorretta Chmiel, Cecilia Tworek, Antonette Vetick. Eleanor Rybinski, Rosie Gembica, and Evelyn Rinkol Sister-in-law: Margie Stankoski Brothers-in-law: Frank Gembica, Mike Tworek, and Joe Rybinski
