Grand Island Man Facing Additonal Charges


(Grand Island, Neb.) - Logan Hunts Horse, a murder suspect in the shooting death of Todd Scherer, is facing extra charges related to robbery and the use of a deadly weapon during a felony.


The 20-year-old appeared in court on Friday, where he was charged with three counts, including murder and two counts of using a deadly weapon. Hunts Horse allegedly killed Todd Scherer, a horse trainer, at Fonner Park barn by first shooting him and then hitting him with a baseball bat.


Hunts Horse and an accomplice reportedly stole the victim's wallet, leading to the addition of robbery and use of a deadly weapon to commit robbery charges.


Austin Kelly, a 16-year-old, is also facing charges for robbery and being an accessory to a felony.

The robbery charges carry a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.
