(Osmond, Neb.) - On Thursday morning, a car and semitrailer truck collision about 25 miles north of Norfolk, resulted in the death of a 49-year-old woman from Minnesota who was a passenger in the car.
The crash occurred when the car, heading west, crossed the center line and collided with the eastbound semi on U.S. Highway 20, two miles west of the U.S. Highway 81 intersection. The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospitals in Norfolk and Omaha for treatment.
The semi driver, a 71-year-old man from Orchard, Nebraska, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transferred to a hospital in Sioux City.
Authorities are withholding the names of those involved in the accident pending family notification.
