Nebraska Volleyball Sells Out Memorial Stadium

(Lincoln, Neb.) - Nebraska volleyball's match at Memorial Stadium in August saw over 80,000 tickets sold. Season ticket holders were able to purchase tickets on Tuesday, while the general public had access on Wednesday and Thursday.



In a press release, Nebraska officials announced that 82,900 tickets were sold for Volleyball Day in Nebraska. The Athletics Director, Trev Alberts, expressed gratitude for the fans' remarkable support and said that they want to explore every possibility to challenge the record for the most attended women's sporting event in the United States.


Nebraska is aiming to break the NCAA volleyball attendance record of 18,755, and the largest crowd for any women's sporting event in the United States was 90,185 for the 1999 Women's World Cup Final.


Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook commented that the team was already thrilled about Volleyball Day in Nebraska, and selling out over 80,000 tickets made it an epic event.
