Scotus Golf Team Wins Dual Against Schuyler Led by Mason Gonka's Impressive Performance

In a dual match against Schuyler on Monday, Mason Gonka led the Shamrocks of Scotus Central Catholic to victory with a score of 42, the best score of the day for both schools.

The Shamrocks defeated the Warriors 195-189 on their home turf. Kaden Backman of Scotus tied for third overall with Schuyler's Derrik Sock, finishing the day with a score of 45. Aiden Kronberg of Schuyler had the second-best score of the day with 44. Brayden Fleming of Scotus rounded out the medalists with a score of 49.


Cael Backman of Scotus shot a 53 to secure the fourth spot on the team score, while Carter Nickeson narrowly missed the cut with a score of 55. Joel Medina and Nathan Colvin of Schuyler were the final two to make the cut for their team, each shooting in the 50s.


Scotus had three medalists in the six-stroke victory over Schuyler. The Shamrock golf team's next event will be at the Lakeview Invite at Quail Run Golf Course on Thursday.
