On Friday morning, a man from Columbus was taken into custody in Norfolk due to drug-related allegations.
Shady Abbott
According to the Norfolk Police Division, they were alerted to an incident on Ta-Ha-Zouka Road at around 7:48 a.m., where a man was observed unconscious in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found Shady Abbott, aged 47, asleep in the driver's seat.
After rousing Abbott, the officers conducted a background check, revealing an existing warrant for his arrest from Platte County. Abbott was taken into custody for the warrant. The police also discovered a bag of methamphetamine, a meth pipe, a bag of pills, and marijuana on Abbott during a search, as well as a “loaded” needle/syringe on the car floor.
Abbott was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance on the Platte County warrant, and he has been transported to the Madison County Jail.
